We're Here Whenever You Need Us!

At Advanced Animal Care we strive to be a place that doesn’t turn anyone away and that our staff look forward to coming to work. We opened in December of 2008 as the area's first 24 hour animal hospital. AAC is family owned and we plan to stay that way. We have a lot of the benefits that a corporate practice would have and yet maintain the feel of a local organization.

Our dedicated emergency facility is always ready to respond to your pet's medical needs, day or night, 365 days a year. From a simple bee sting to severe trauma, our compassionate staff is prepared to provide expert care and support during stressful times.

Urgent/Emergency Care

Introducing Our Cutting-Edge CT Machine

We're thrilled to announce an exciting addition to our facility: a brand-new CT machine. This cutting-edge technology is a significant milestone in our journey to offer the best diagnostic and treatment options for your pets.

How do I know if my pet is having an emergency?

What’s the difference between urgent and emergency care? The answer isn’t always clear-cut, but generally speaking, emergency care is required for any life-threatening injury or illness that requires immediate hospitalization. Urgent care falls between emergency care and regular vet visits, in the somewhat nebulous area of “I know something’s wrong with my pet and it needs to be checked out by a vet ASAP.”

If you’re ever in doubt about what qualifies for urgent versus emergency care, just contact us and we’ll help you figure it out. In the meantime, read on for a working list of pet ailments that can help you make a call in your care decision.

Our Clients say...

From the receptionists to the techs to the doctor, everybody was so amazing! I have used this hospital for years now and I’ve never had anything except great care. My sister also uses them because they are so reliable! They have taken care of my dogs in the past. And now they are taking such great care of Hoops Dog! They were so sweet and loving towards him, and took such amazing care of him. All of the staff were so nice, took their time to explain things to me, and just gave him so much love! I will always go back to this hospital for my pet’s care!

The staff members at this hospital are wonderful !! They go above and beyond for their patients. Our dog Max, was at deaths door, they literally saved his life. Haley actually brought in her own dog to donate blood for a desperately needed blood transfusion , which is what was needed to kickstart our little guys road to recovery. He was loved and cared for by a genuinely caring and knowledgeable staff. If you want excellent care for your furbabies, bring them here !!!

I was visiting some family out of town when my dog needed to see a vet on a Saturday. Couldn’t get in anywhere but Advanced Animal Care, so we drove for an hour to Richmond. They took excellent care of my old gal and were nothing but kind and patient with her (even though she was not happy to be there). With an emergency exam, sedation, and three prescriptions, I expected a massive bill yet it was quite reasonable. It was a great experience in a stressful situation. I’m so grateful they were able to get my girl fixed up and on the road to recovery. I’d definitely go back here, but hope I never need to!

I had an emergency at 9:30 on a Tuesday night and they were able to get me right in! My vet tech that was with my cat was so sweet and treated my cat how I’d want her to be treated! I felt horrible having to leave my fur baby over night, but I knew she was in great hands! Also, the office seemed quite spacious, clean, and smelled good (surprisingly for a vets office). I would definitely recommend them and I will return for and future emergencies.

The staff is very kind, helpful and caring to all of my animals and myself. The Doctors give me my options for a plan of action against my problem at hand and we then move forward. Also the fact that they are available 365 days of the year 24 hours a day makes it great that they have my pets history and information available. I am glad to give them a 5 star rating based on the staff and care-concern they show for my pets.

I love taking my two German Shepherds Mina and Pepper here!! The staff is so nice and the doctors are incredibly smart and caring. I couldn’t ask for better care for my two dogs! I love that we have taken them there since they were puppies for all of their annual wellness exams but also we know they are open 24/7 for any emergencies that could happen! It’s nice to support a local family owned business too!
